Chattings nice I like it. Can it possible for us to have a place to chat banalities without being shouted at by the Me Me Fucking Me brigade, where serious rules all and all frippery and nonsense must be curtailed in favour of BIG SERIOUS TALK ABOUT BIG SERIOUS ISSUES, THAT AFFECT ME.

I promise if you do, I'll stay there Thanks

Here! Here!

I've just had DC3 and just want somewhere funny to go and be entertained during night feeds

I have a 1 and a 2 year old too and am flipping knackered so can't keep up with the latest "thing" to be offended about. I am an employment lawyer and thought I'd seen it all but I'm still amazed at some of the stuff I see on here daily!

Stop making it all about you, right? ;)

I presume you refer to the fact that no one posts in the relevant topics?
EVERY single thread in Active seems to be in Chat or AIBU and many of the subjects are rather deep and serious..not a shopping list in sight.Sad

So what you're saying is we need a sub-topic from Chat called something like Trivial Shit? I'd be all for that.

LegoRuinedMyFinances · 17/11/2015 22:34

It has been rather serious here of late (myself included).

What we need is a poster who is willing to put their foibles on MN to entertain us. Someone who'd be willing to iMac their child or turn them green or summat. Don't know where we'd find a kind poster like that do you? Grin

I've no idea where anyone could find such a fool like that Lego

And yes, I'd like a trivial shit topic. Guaranteed 100% lambast free.

IMacing children could be the Next Big Thing.

The cyborg generation, who come with off switches and volume control and can be conveniently located using Find My iKid.

Yes, please talk trivia to me! Distract me.

DH is driving me nuts with the annual "We need to start sorting out Christmas presents" speech which is feckin pointless since he does absolutely none of the shopping anyway... Not to mention the recurring "Should we get a new tree?" to which my answer is the same as the last 5 years: YES, a real tree casts less than the crappy Woolworths one that gets dragged out every damn year. Rant over.
Blush sorry that was all about me, wasn't it? As you were Wink

The wine bord is rarely used. Maybe people could move in there for banaal banter?

I yearn for MumsnetLite and MumsnetDeathlySerious. I would be in the former chatting about Strictly, the 80s, and what great crapola I bought in Home Bargains this week.

My iPhone capitalises the word apple every time. Bugs the hell out of me. I'm text-instructing DH to buy apples, the fruit, not a major communications company. Apple Inc isn't going to fit in a packed lunch box. Now that's the sort of trivial shit that needs discussion.

HoneyDragon · 17/11/2015 22:47

Oh, I hate spousal Christmas fuckery.

It comes every year, mostly the same things happen, need doing have to be purchased. Announcing that they will, soon need to be done is basically asking to wedged up the chimney to fucking wait for Santa.

I bought my aunt an inflatable man for Christmas from Home Bargains. That will earn me a clip round the ear.

Bet Steve Jobs could've fit the Apple Corporation in a lunch box. It'd be the IBrownBag.

TrivialShit sounds right up my street...

Report
RustyBear · 17/11/2015 22:53

Well, that's one way in which my DH is never going to piss me off. To be honest, I don't think he'd even notice Christmas if left to himself. The idea that something needs to be done about it wouldn't even occur to him...
