Translation: words get typed twice or randomly deleted when trying to type (see above example) and it only seems to happen on MN.

Wondered if it was a bug with my phone, the SwiftKey app or the site?

Thanks for posting, Mackerel. How odd..

Is this happening to anyone else using SK?

Yes I had the same sometimes. I found shutting down Internet and loading it up again worked. Now I just use the Samsung stock keyboard as it works a lot better with mumsnet and the like.

Had a few words appear twice twice (etc) but nothing quite so extreme.

Yes shutting down the browser does seem to fix it. I guess it's an issue with Chrome or SwiftKey rather than MN. Glad it's not just my phone though.

@MackerelOfFact

I work for SwiftKey.

Can you confirm you what type of phone you are using? I'm assuming its an Android phone as you said it was happening in Chrome. It would be awesome to get more information so we can flag it with our technical staff. :)

I used to have the same issue so I stopped using it. Also, it was too big for my phone screen. Not everyone has massive Phablets Hmm

However, I get similar (but not as severe) issues with the standard HTC keyboard, so maybe it was just my phone.

Thanks to both of you may for the additional detail here. We will do some further testing and debugging on our end. I appreciate your patience as we look into this matter further.

@BertieBotts that's odd that it happens with the HTC keyboard as well. Do you see this with using any specific formatting or just any typing at all?

It doesn't happen quite the same with the HTC one. The HTC one has a problem (which swiftkey used to do as well) where sometimes when I get to the edge of the text box it somehow decides that it needs to mash together this word and the next word (without correcting the first word for typos) and often it adds extra letters. Putting a space in doesn't work and double spacing puts in a full stop, which can look odd in the middle of a sentence.

With swiftkey I used to get anomalies like "I amaalso" as Cinde said.

The main issue I get with HTC is the end-of-line text box issue and another weird one which is where the cursor doesn't match up to where it looks like it is so trying to delete letters deletes random letters in the middle of other sentences. But that's not a swiftkey issue.

All of these occur with any typing. But being at the edge of a text box seems particularly problematic.

I'm on Android and the problem has only really started since the latest software update. I'm on a Sony Xperia z3 compact if that makes any difference!

I've been having trouble with Swiftkey on a Hudl2 using chrome browser. (currently on PC so all ok)

Mainly start a word G A and press spacebar to autocomplete GAVE, but instead I get GAGAVE

Had to revert to default hudl keyboard which is dire.

Shame as I really like SK when it works

For me it's only on mumsnet. If I open a text or email or app I can type fine.

On mumsnet it just goes haywire, duplicating words, autocorrecting actual words into nonsense, and even jumping backwards and forwards in the text and rewording what I've already typed (as demonstrated above)!

Swiftkey is the only app which can correct my drunk typing to a point that it appears totally sober Grin

Hi everyone. We'll have a chat with Tech and see if there are any issues our end.

Can we just check that this is an issue on Android? Is anyone having trouble with iOS?

Thank you Josh for looking into things at your end!

Sorry, one more - is everyone using the mobile site or the app?
