MNHQ - as the KP thread is not accepting messages, can you confirm you will be looking at wiltswonder15 who admitted namechanging to post goady shit.

Just deleting the thread gets rid of the comments but there seems to have been no need to post under a name change whilst being quite gleeful about upsetting several parents of DC with disabilities. So at best questionable behaviour.

Otherwise it's just a licence to be a twat isn't it? Being a twat is against the ethos of the site isn't it?

I'm just concerned that this pattern of namechanging goady posters just disappearing after a thread is deleted is quite a regular pattern now.
I hope those posting under name changes are being noted.

Hi all,

The thread has now gone. We do mark the card of individuals who do this sort of thing and warn them about their posting style. If they NC and do it again, we have ways of knowing that it's the same person.

Anyone who consistently breaks our Talk guidelines, will ultimately be banned.

I am also very very cross that the deletion message says "bunfight" and not that it was deleted on the grounds that at the heart of it it was attacking the right of a person with disabilities to whatever assistance they need and attempting to put conditions or restrictions on which people with disabilities should be given what.

It should have been deleted for being disablist. With a message to give MNs position on such things. Not deleted giving the impression it was 6 of one and half a dozen of the other.

And yes, I would also like to know which coward wants to namechange to post horrible things in order that they can continue to chat happily in their usual persona.

I think that there should be a rule - if you namechange to be a twat - you lose your namechanging rights!

I don't think they "should have their cards marked" I think they should be banned straight away. You've got "this is my child" campaign and you've got the guest post about what disabled people have to put up with, yet time and time again we have to put up with this shit. It's really not fair Rebecca and it needs a stronger policy when it comes to dealing with them.

I saw the thread earlier, and hadn't got around to getting involved. I read about half of it, I guess.

It is unacceptable that the thread was deleted for becoming 'a bunfight'. That doesn't reflect what I read at all.

Why does MNHQ find it so difficult to nail their colours to the mast on this one, and call a disablist thread, um, disablist?

If Wilts did indeed admt to name changing purely in order to be able to post goady shit, and wind up posters who s/he may chat to happily on other threads, then I think that the original account should have name change facilities suspended. The poster clearly cannot use the facility with respect and maturity.

Goady name changing should be an instant ban.

Can't remember the last time someone name changed for a giggle, we don't seem to have them much anymore.

But be a troll or a gf and you get a warning.

I thought if I said that you'd feel I was being too harsh.

Its like being a teenager. Play nicely or you'll get told off.

If posters knew trolling or changing to be goady meant instant ban perhaps there wouldn't be so much of it.

I don't know the thread you refer to, but totally agree with the nc it is infuriating.
There are a couple atm who are posting to goad and fuel sah and woh both nc and old members, not new.
You know who you are and MNHQ are on to you as well from what I hear.

The deletion message is unacceptable. It wasn't an innocent thread that went off on a tangent and "became a bunfight". It was a loathsome first post, rooted in smallmindedness and petty jealousy of a disabled child getting transport!

I read most of the thread before it went poof but was not surprised to see how it turned out. I've nc'd I think once in about 5 years. I'm always deeply suspicious of regular name changers. I don't take em on especially when it comes to disablist threads. I hold my head up high for my dcs and won't get into arguing about their entitlements. It's not worth the time and effort teaching stupid how to think. I am above name calling. bloody TWATTY cunty sock puppetry trolls you see above name calling.

Maybe when a thread heads under the bridge there should be a general call to alert all and step away from the thread. Anyone got any ideas of a suitable topic?

Hi all,

Thank you all for posting.

We have taken onboard what you have said and in retrospect, the 'bunfight' option was a bad call. We have changed it now.

WRT the OP, we will be looking into them further to see if they have form for threads of a similar nature. We will be taking action if they do.
