Have the adverts in the mobile site changed to being along the top and 'floating' as you scroll down the page? I thought they were changed to being distributed through the page, every 6 or so threads. I find it really annoying to have them at the top of the screen constantly.

Hi EGBDF,

They haven't deliberately been changed, no.

We have flagged this problem to our Tech team and they're on the case. Can we just ask, are you using an iPhone by any chance?

MyBootsAreMuddy Mon 17-Nov-14 21:22:10

I have the advert back at the top of the page too. It's really annoying, I had no problem with them between posts as they disappeared as you scrolled up. The one at the top just stays there and reduces what I can see and the flashing ones make my eyes go funny.

I'm on Samsung S4 mini (so small screen size anyway). It's android and I'm using g Google.

Happening here too. On a blackberry so only have a narrow window to look at text through! Makes me quesy cause I'm constantly scrolling. Site overall perfomring poorly tonight though. Slow to load, part of screen filled with blue squares, menues taking ages to pop up etc.

Please fix. Driving me batty and have to go now as I can't stick it sad

wiltingfast Mon 17-Nov-14 21:43:26

Forgot to add, the blue bar is doubling up too...

DawnMumsnet (MNHQ) Mon 17-Nov-14 22:04:03

Rats. So it's not just the iPhone then ...

Thanks for all the details. We'll hopefully have this sorted before too long.

In the meantime, we know it's a pain and we're really sorry. flowers

SoonToBeSix Tue 18-Nov-14 03:53:32

Glad it's a mistake it's extremely distracting.

EveryGoodBoyDeservesFun Tue 18-Nov-14 10:34:53

Hi Dawn, yes, I'm on an iPhone 5, using safari. It is still doing it, but that's good to know it isn't a deliberate change.

Thanks for the flowers in the meantime though!

I'm so relieved it's not an experiment! Don't mind waiting for it to be fixed but I was terrified it was here to stay.
iPhone 3GS Safari

EveryGoodBoyDeservesFun Wed 19-Nov-14 16:49:54

Any sign of a fix for this MNHQ? It is still happening.

LineRunner Wed 19-Nov-14 16:51:26

Yes it is still happening to me too, on Kindle Fire.

Wailywailywaily Wed 19-Nov-14 16:53:06

I'm getting it on the Samsung S3 mini too and I hate it

LineRunner Wed 19-Nov-14 17:17:18

Also lots of flickering.

And it's really slowed down

Tzibeleh Wed 19-Nov-14 23:55:58

Still getting the floating ads here.confused

iPhone 3GS, iOS6.something, Safari.

ophiotaurus Thu 20-Nov-14 08:48:44

Please fix this is horrible.

LineRunner Thu 20-Nov-14 08:53:03

It's making the mobile site unusable for me again - getting a headache with all the flashing.

ophiotaurus Thu 20-Nov-14 08:54:11

Me too Line. I wish they would stop messing with it. The ads were fine through the thread. It's very distracting.

FluffyRedSocks Thu 20-Nov-14 09:01:05

Back at the top here too, iPhone safari

LineRunner Thu 20-Nov-14 09:49:11

ophio I wonder what has happened to make it regress so, if it's not deliberate (as DawnMN says upthread).

ophiotaurus Thu 20-Nov-14 12:15:32

I don't know line but it's annoying. It was fine before!

ophiotaurus Fri 21-Nov-14 07:20:28

MNHQ it's still like this. Any news on it being fixed?
