Hello folks

Just wanted to let you know that Tech is planning some unusually protracted fiddling on THURSDAY MORNING, which will result in the site being out of action for about 15 minutes around 8am GMT.

Whatever you do, don't talk to your spouses. THIS IS NOT A DRILL.

Uhh, OK. But this means (main)Tech will be doing this at 3am his time? Or is it a UK Tech doing it?

It'll be our lovely in-office techs. We keep them tethered in the NW5 region.

Isn't that rather painful? Grin

Soooo .... you have a 'Tech Shed' in NW5 too?

Ah well, I'll have to go and have my shower at 8am, instead of 9am? Grin

Glad you're not getting pore-ole-Tech to work at 3am his time!

I read that as 'Outrage'. Confused

Can I add how impressed I am that nobody has made a crude remark about tech's protracted fiddling.

look at you. all grown up. [proud]

What effect will the fiddling have. maybe it's the [kitten] emoticon? or the flushing out of trolls? Shock

cozietoesie · 05/03/2014 19:26

Just a thought, Rowan, but why don't you schedule a - say - weekly slot for Tech to use for maintenance? That way, people would know what was coming and Tech would be able to plan.

Noooo - I MN in Pret every morning between 8am and 8.30 before I go into work. I'll need to read a book!

NymodigFruOla · 05/03/2014 19:34

Does anyone remember when there was a 'daily fiddling time' between about 3 - 3.15 am (UK) time? Not that it ever made any difference to me, as I'm usually snoring then!

ShamTech · 06/03/2014 08:18

Hmmm a [kitten] emoticon sounds really good. Maybe we'll sneak that in next time.

Fiddling is all done now.

Report
Sparklingbrook · 06/03/2014 08:48

Oh. I missed the fiddling. school run and sorting out washing.'Daily fiddling time' sounds all kinds of wrong Fru.

Report
cozietoesie · 06/03/2014 09:26

Yep. I didn't even notice it as too busy doing things. Sounds like a good time of day - although it would be too early to fiddle for me personally.

I misread that initially as 'outrage' also. I guess we've been on MN too long?

Actually if you could plan your collective outrage and let us know so that we can go on holiday pencil it in that would be awfully helpful Grin
