LIZS Tue 11-Feb-14 15:03:39

Just noticed, did I miss a memo ?

Chippingnortonset123 Tue 11-Feb-14 15:05:13

What is it about?

BadgersRetreat Tue 11-Feb-14 15:05:41

its luffly HQ.

Our Mayor hoisted the rainbow flag over City hall on Friday instead of the Olympic one and has refused to change it despite the whinging he's putting up with grin

VegetariansTasteLikeChicken Tue 11-Feb-14 15:06:51

Against the anti gay sentiment at Olympics (I assume!)

Chippingnortonset123 Tue 11-Feb-14 15:18:12

That was my guess, but I didn't want to presume.

NymodigFruOla Tue 11-Feb-14 15:45:18

It's vair pretty!

"Against the anti gay sentiment at Olympics (I assume!)". I hope so too.

BadgersRetreat Tue 11-Feb-14 15:51:27

Yes that was my assumption too.

ouryve Tue 11-Feb-14 15:52:49

I just noticed it and thought I'd just been incredibly observant for 4 days or so!

ErrolTheDragon Tue 11-Feb-14 16:02:47

Ah - so not a reminder to God that he appears to be breaking his promise not to flood the world ever again? wink

Good show MN. (and Badger's Mayor - hope people are sending him messages of support not just whingers)

VegetariansTasteLikeChicken Tue 11-Feb-14 16:04:30

It's that gays wot caused the flooding, did you not know errol?

AwfulMaureen Tue 11-Feb-14 16:04:34

Oh yes! Hooray! Glad MN are on it.

NinjaKangaroo Tue 11-Feb-14 16:48:54

It looks great!

Hi all,

The Olympic charter states:
"The practice of sport is a human right.

'Every individual must have the possibility of practicing sport, without discrimination of any kind and in the Olympic spirit, which requires mutual understanding with a spirit of friendship, solidarity and fair play."

Quite right, we think, so we changed the logo accordingly as many other orgs have. Glad you like it.

Starballbunny Tue 11-Feb-14 17:00:56

The google banner for the start of the Winter Olympics was in rainbow colours too.

Can't see the MN one my iPhone is refusing to leave mobile one.

I wonder if anyone will dare criticise the Qatar for it's stance on LGBT during the World Cup though? Oh and women's rights.

It has always struck me as quite odd that South Africa was excluded from international sporting events because of apartheid (rightly so) and yet other nations that practise gender 'apartheid' and don't even allow women to compete in most sports are welcomed without criticism. I suspect oil may be the reason, oh and religion is treated as some sort of trump card.

It is also not very long ago that we had Section 28 ourselves.

I am loving all the piss taking of Russia though.

Good point except unfortunately it would be sheer hypocrisy for the world of football to criticize a nation on either of those issues. sad

Ironically on the front page of the 'I' today was a story about a gay female footballer coming out!

MiniCracker Tue 11-Feb-14 17:36:23

Like it, MNHQ.

WhiskyTangoFoxtrot Tue 11-Feb-14 17:40:04

Like it.

Google did similar on the day of the opening ceremony.

And E4 has been using an ident "gay mountain" on a similar theme.

skillsandtea Tue 11-Feb-14 17:43:31

Love it.

scaevola Tue 11-Feb-14 20:54:06

Will it be staying until the end of the Games?

LoveAndDeath Tue 11-Feb-14 22:10:04

Errol did you not hear? God handed weather control over to gay people and they don't have a legal obligation to fulfil any weather related promises made by the former jurisdiction and any use of the rainbow is for symbolic purposes only.

Selks Tue 11-Feb-14 22:37:14

Yes well done MNHQ! smile
