Anyone else being repeatedly asked to save a file called seg.js from
I've run a virus scan and it was clean, and this is ONLY happening on mumsnet.
No way I'm downloading anything I didn't directly click on by the way.

Ooh, I do hope so! hmm

Waltons Mon 19-Aug-13 17:03:41

Nothing yesterday or today, Colette. Looks like you fixed it. thanks

ColetteTech (MNHQ) Mon 19-Aug-13 14:03:47

Thanks for your help on this everyone.
We've put a block on East ads, can you report back and let me know if you're still getting the download message?

VonTrappFan Sun 18-Aug-13 09:08:13

Got it again. Same message, same ad but on a thread this time. The last 3 times I have seen it have all been the East advert. Prior to that I have no idea as wasn't paying attention.

LottieJenkins Sun 18-Aug-13 08:40:24

I've just had it pop up again on the Katie Price thread!

RowanMumsnet (MNHQ) Sat 17-Aug-13 21:02:01

Aha! Thanks VonTrappFan

Just happened again and it is definitely the East 50% off sale ad on Active Conversations for me. It says Do you want to open or save seg.js from and then gives me open, save and cancel boxes. I have screen shot it so let me know if you want me to email it to you, and what email address to use.

Also getting it - yesterday and today, AIBU and Chat. Using Internet Explorer. Will try to work out which ad is displaying/grab a screenshot next time it pops up.

RowanMumsnet (MNHQ) Sat 17-Aug-13 19:20:33

Sorry about this - we're still trying to chase it down.

Next time someone spots it, could you let us know

a) the name of the brand being advertised, and
b) the wording on the ad that's being displayed?

I was still getting it yesterday on various pages. It is most odd.

VonTrappFan Sat 17-Aug-13 11:13:07

I seem to get it on active conversations when the East ad with a dark haired woman looking sideways appears. Just happened again.

Tapirbackrider Sat 17-Aug-13 00:40:32

I've just had this happen twice, both times on the Site Stuff topic. Done a full AV sweep with Avast, and Malwarebytes - all clear.

Will try to get it to happen again, and get a screen shot.

I've had this sporadically for 6 months or so.

I just ignore it, nothing happens.

I've always assumed it's a bit of javascript that's got lost. sad

Opera 11, Windows 7.

LIZS Fri 16-Aug-13 17:10:34

juts had it for 1st time today on a Behaviour/Development thread confused

ImNotBloody14 Fri 16-Aug-13 16:34:33 hasn't happened again but will send one when it does.

ColetteTech (MNHQ) Fri 16-Aug-13 16:29:58

Yup! It won't do it now, of course...!

ColetteTech (MNHQ) Fri 16-Aug-13 16:29:19

I'm assuming you're on Windows because this problem seems limited to Internet Explorer? If so, Microsoft can explain it better than me grin.

GetStuffezd Fri 16-Aug-13 16:27:59

Yup! It won't do it now, of course...!

ImNotBloody14 Fri 16-Aug-13 16:23:25

oh- how do I do a screengrab? grin

ImNotBloody14 Fri 16-Aug-13 16:19:41

yep will do.

ColetteTech (MNHQ) Fri 16-Aug-13 16:18:20

Could you send a screengrab to when you see it? That would be REALLY helpful.
Thanks for the one you uploaded, ImperialBlether.

GetStuffezd Fri 16-Aug-13 16:01:54

Me too.

ImNotBloody14 Fri 16-Aug-13 16:01:21

still happening for me i'm afraid.

ColetteTech (MNHQ) Fri 16-Aug-13 15:52:00

Thanks Boney and Lottie thanks

LottieJenkins Fri 16-Aug-13 15:46:26
