If I type anything inside pointy brackets like these < the brackets and the text inside them disappear. Have we taken against pointy brackets?

They disappear as in aren't visible to me on the app (but do seem to be visible to others not using the app)

Forum probably has the requirement to not allow HTML in posts, hence any text enclosed in HTML brackets would be removed.

But it used to work and be visible to me on the app Confused

Lougle your post looks blank to me. This is disconcerting as I could be missing lots of funny remarks and people could write stuff about me too!!!

I hate the app, but I've come on to test it. it's fine for me. I'm using android. Are you using an iPhone/iPad?

Ok, it's not the app. It's Apple.

On the PC, it's fine.

On my android smartphone using firefox, it's fine.

On the IPad, the text is missing.

I'm using safari on the iPad- not the app.

I tried the IPad using the app.

I'll try using firefox.

Also can see the text on my iPhone on the mobile site.

Ok, I didn't realise you can't get firefox on the IPad. I used another browser and all is fine there.

So, it's confirmed that it's the app on iphone/iPad.

Just had a look at the app on the iPad and iPhone, and the disappearing text isn't the strangest thing about it - loads of threads are repeated ion the active convos list - not just someone's posted a thread twice, but two threads with the same posts on. Is that normal for the app? (I hardly ever use it)

Rusty, good point, I've just got used to duplicate threads showing on active threads because I not use the iphone app, but it is annoying

MN towers - when your tech team have a sec can they have a look into invisible text inside pointy brackets and duplicate threads in active on the iphone/ipad app

Yep, we'll add that to the long long long long long long long long list of stuff that needs fixing on the app. Thanks for flagging it.

Sorry. To be more specific (and helpful!), we know about the duplicate threads already (grr). Try clearing your data and logging in again.

But we didn't know about the pointy brackets thing.

So we'll add that to our list (which already includes the duplicate threads).
