To log in (I've got fat fingers and am on my IPad) and it says MN aren't accepting any new registrations?

LagomOchLyckaSwede Thu 11-Apr-13 10:04:22

Sorry, also saw a thread in chat about the same thing so it wasn't just me. I logged in afterwards (obviously).

I think they've bolted the doors for a bit because of the recent media coverage. It tends to result in lots of trolls joining up to be tosspots.

So we've got a lock in. grin <fond memories of after hours drinking sessions in the White Hart>

RebeccaMumsnet (MNHQ) Thu 11-Apr-13 10:18:03

Mwhahaha - yes you're all locked in.

Not really grin <opens doors>

ellajayne Thu 11-Apr-13 10:27:08

HoneyDragon Thu 11-Apr-13 17:19:32

Cool. Does this mean if they aren't letting anyone in no one can get out? Have they disabled the big bad banning finger? Can I misbehave nd not get sent away?

Cool grin

Jux Thu 11-Apr-13 17:27:59

Can I put the jukebox on?

HelenYoniSchmoniMumsnet (MNHQ) Thu 11-Apr-13 18:02:59

FruOla Thu 11-Apr-13 18:09:08

HarrietSchulenberg Thu 11-Apr-13 18:46:16

Is it like Sean of the Dead? Are we in The Winchester?

FruOla Thu 11-Apr-13 19:04:32

Aw, HelenMNHQ, please stay with us - never mind that Rebecca not inviting you [humph]

We're in a 'virtual Winchester/White Hart', we have a jukebox, kebabs, gin and tonics, wine, cigs (yes, Badgers, I smoke too!), Doritos and dips ..... and a Mariachi band www.youtube.com/watch?v=iJyB-qqxu0o to keep us entertained during the lock-in. grin

YoniWhenILaugh Thu 11-Apr-13 19:46:10

ooh ta. I'll bum a cig. I've quit but I don't think virtual smokes count. grin

Such, such fond memories of the lock ins.

You knew you'd made it when the landlord would lock up with you still in there.

Jux Thu 11-Apr-13 21:08:50

I remember the mornings after the lock-ins better than the lock-ins themselves. (Except someone always put 'Pearl's a bloody singer' on the jukebox; grrrrr, if I never hear that song again it'll be too soon.)

catsrus Thu 11-Apr-13 21:13:24

I was never with the cool gang, never part of a lock-in, until now <contented sigh>
thanks MNHQ thanks

YoniWankEnobi Thu 11-Apr-13 22:23:19

I was once locked in school (the whole school was) in a snowstorm thingamajig. Slept there overnight until it got cleared in the morning. The teachers borrowed cigarettes of all of us sixth formers and then shared a drink with all of us (the younger ones didn't get a look in, obvs). Not the best example but the lock in was great!

YoniWankEnobi Thu 11-Apr-13 22:23:53

Oh, but I quit so I can't smoke now...Jaffa cakes only sad

tigerdriverII Thu 11-Apr-13 22:26:06

You don't have lock ins nowadays with the bloomin liberal licensing laws. I love a decent lock in. Haven't had one for years. Count me in!

Jux Fri 12-Apr-13 14:15:55

You need to live round here where most of the pubs are only licenced until midnight, tigerdriver. We have lock-ins (but don't tell....)
