iPhone app!

Hi MNHQ, the MN app keeps chucking me out when I choose the 'Topics' button and also from random threads - mostly the Benedict Cumberbatch one in Sleb Twaddle ??
It's an iPhone 4, running latest update for the app.

And emoticons just look like random numbers and symbols (see above) pound signs and other punctuation marks are a jumble of numbers too.
What's going on?
