Email notifications of pm's ???
(17 Posts)We have had a bit of confusion on another thread
Do some of you get an email to let you know every time you get a pm ?
I never have.
It seems you may be able to switch that facility on/off
I don't remember doing anything, but have never had an email notification
Can anyone explain ?
I have only ever had one pm and I got an email notification.
Is it Mumsnet New thingy ?
I use Mumsnet Classic
I don't understand
Yama, be a love and pm me
I always get an email.
Have PMed you, AF. Great Halloween name, btw
Message withdrawn at poster's request.
nope, no email
I use Mumsnet Classic, it must be that
there is no option in that to receive email notifications of pms (that I can find, anyway)
don't get me wrong, I don't want a notification....just confused as to why I didn't when others do
If you open your inbox, there's a link at the top that tells you more about private messaging. This is what it says about 'how to tell if you've got a PM':
"If you've been sent a PM, your Inbox icon will develop a fetching little 'You've got mail'-type flag.
You will also receive an email notification that a new PM message is waiting for you. You can choose not to receive email notifications by clicking on 'Settings' (next to the 'New Message' button) and unticking the default option."
thanks, ML...where is your Hallowe'en name ?
I'm a Classic user, and I get emails. You probably have to opt in to receiving emails from MN.
BIWI, you star
I use Classic too. I think. Op at the bottom, no pages.
Oh, well done, BIWI.
I haven't thought up a clever name yet, AF.
Talking of namechanges, did you see my name change drop down box thread?
Thanks. Two it is and will probably remain - forever.
no, didn't see that, haven't been on here this weekend
