Looking at it scientifically...

Mumsnet is pretty bloody fab.

Facebook is a bunch of arse.

In conclusion, Mumsnet has NOTHING to learn from Facebook.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Please don't do this. It would reduce debate to that of the twats on the Daily Mail. And 'I am going to make some cheese on toast' status updates with 34 likes on facebook (i.e. moronic)

We are considering this as a customisable (not default) option as you are nno means the first to ask, but clearly there are a lot of people who'd rather we didn't. So we thought that we could trial it as an option for those that want, but it wouldn't show for those that didn't. When we'll get round to that though is quite another matter...

NB, BEFORE ANYONE GOES TONTO, WE ARE NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES CONSIDERING TICKERS, CUSTOMISABLE OR OTHERWISE.

If you introduce this as a customisable option, I want the option to not allow anybody to like anything I've ever said. Because I won't have sycophantic nobbers pawing at my posts with ignorant fervour.

really what would be the point, when i am sat around having a conversation with people they don't all give me a thumbs down if i say something they don't quite agree with, would be really off-putting

NO justine don't do it as a customisable option! Please. Thin end of the wedge. This is how wars start.

Report
nightshade · 10/10/2011 13:11

sorry for being moronic, a cunting twat or anything else!!

sometimes i would just like to acknowledge my 'like' of someone's comment, where they can see it, without having to type in a witty and inspiring retort, which will appear half way down the page and out of synch with the current debate.

thank you mumsnet for your considered response!
