Mumnset HAD A WORD

TheRhubarb Thu 21-Jul-11 09:35:38

Funnily enough it hasn't happened to me yet, which is rather surprising grin

I would definitely copy and paste it in an email to MNHQ and then reply telling the poster what you have done and telling them in no uncertain terms that if they contact you via PM again you will repost their message on Mumsnet.

Cowardly shites.

I think sending offensive PMs should be an automatic banning offence. It's worth reporting though SAF, because for all you know this poster could be on a warning already - and MNHQ might be waiting for the final bit of the jigsaw to ban for good. Saw the thread incidentally - can easily guess who that poster is and can confirm that she is one of a small minority of truly toxic mumnsnetters.

I understand in this instance reposting would be inappropriate but I do think in the main reposting and naming and shaming is the way forward.

It is cowardly to be unpleasant when you can't be called on it.

It would be good if MN could remove the ability to send PMs from posters who abuse the facility. So the poster in question could click "Message Poster" and even type their words of wisdom, hit Send and get back "Sorry this feature is not
