Hi I created a thread but how do I close it now

belgo Fri 27-May-11 12:47:04

You need to click on 'report' above your opening message and politely ask mumsnet to close the thread, giving your reason why. It might take a few hours.

You can't close it but you can ask for it to be deleted by "reporting" your opening post on it and asking MNHQ that way

Look to the right of the your name on the opening post

you can't.

If you don't want people to post on your threads then don't post threads. hmm

hocuspontas Fri 27-May-11 12:50:52

Emmz0 Fri 27-May-11 13:01:49

hocuspontas - Oh no not being mean really, i just dont want to upset ppl who might think its useless thread and all. I geniunely wanted advice on way I handled it and I think I've got it

Pagwatch Fri 27-May-11 13:03:14

Oh, it doesn't work that way.

Better to be brave, go back and take the replies in good spirits.

We have all been a bit of a twat every now and again.

<<taps side of nose in knowing fashion>>

<<quietly though>>

hocuspontas Fri 27-May-11 13:04:07

Sorry - didn't mean to sound mean. I know we've all 'piled' in but I think MN is really good at helping keep things in perspective.

AnyF Fri 27-May-11 13:07:41

I want to know which thread it is now

You might need to get this one deleted too, Emm smile

SquirtedPerfumeUpNoseInBoots Fri 27-May-11 13:19:48

This one maybe?

Emmz0 Fri 27-May-11 13:20:56

PinotGrigiosKittens on am I being reasonable - I've got all feedback, I dont want it to turn into chaos

Bucharest Fri 27-May-11 13:21:36

You need to close the Mumsnet page, type into your browser and join them.

They allow posters to close threads if you don't like the responses you're getting.

It's one of the reasons I left there.

PinotGrigiosKittens Fri 27-May-11 13:23:38

OP - save yourself and click Hide Thread. Tis much fun on that thread grin

ChaosTrulyReigns Fri 27-May-11 13:24:34

Turn what into me??

QuintessentialOldMoo Fri 27-May-11 13:27:17

But it is lovely and good-humoured chaos.

Not you, Chaos, chaos. Normal chaos. Green chaos! grin

AnnieLobeseder Fri 27-May-11 13:28:49

Don't get it deleted! It's a great thread! People wouldn't post on it if they thought it was a waste of time. If you don't want to see any more replies, you can hide the thread.

I think MN have a policy if not deleting anything just because you feel a bit silly, only if you've said something insulting or outed someone or similar.

Emmz0 Fri 27-May-11 13:29:56

ChaosTrulyReigns - Noo noo sorry I didnt mean you at all I meant chaos as the word choas and not any poster.
