Highlighting authors' posts

JustineMumsnet · 01/09/2010 15:30

For them that wants there's now an option to highlight the OP's posts in a thread. Just go to customise and choose "Yes" on the highlight posts by author option.

If you hate tints/hate OPs/hate change then just ignore this message and carry on as you were.

Cheers.

Have done it - thank you

Pretty repulsive colour though!

Ha! was just coming back to say the same as RustyBear.

Thank you for the option though

I was going to say the same too! I've done it, and agree it'll be helpful, but grey!? Really!? Couldn't you have chosen something more pleasing to the eye?

Thank you, though Smile

What about if you are the OP and namechange to come back on to agree with yourself in AIBU, Justine? Will I people who do this be exposed?

It's not grey, it's olive green (you moaning minnies)! Based on the original MN palette. And it's linked to OP nickname only (so name changes won't show).

RustyBear · 01/09/2010 15:40

Actually it looks light brown to me...

Dinghy · 01/09/2010 15:43

Can we have an 'I fear change' smiley?

Report
LackingInspiration · 01/09/2010 15:43

There is no way you could call that olive on my laptop, Justine! It's definitely a muddy grey colour.

Report
Ladymuck · 01/09/2010 15:46

Good idea, though pity it won't out namechangers!

kickassangel · 01/09/2010 15:47

<<Sticks fingers in ears>> La, la, la. We can't hear you!

LackingInspiration · 01/09/2010 15:54

Please make it more pretty!? It's very ugly for poor little me! Can't you make it a tone of your purple colour you have on the side bar menu titles?

ShowOfHands · 01/09/2010 15:57

While you're changing things....?

Justine, you know how you're my favourite?

Report
BonzoDooDah · 01/09/2010 15:58

Looks battleship grey to me - but I'm not bothered. Great idea thanks!

Itsjustafleshwound · 01/09/2010 16:00

Thank you. It is grey on my laptop, but I'm not complaining ...

I have opted for, and thank you MNHQ but in customise I had literally the top mm of y or n look at and guessed at where the drop down box was

Report
RustyBear · 01/09/2010 16:06

How about the same colour as those 'save' buttons on the Customise page?

I know 'pale mud' was one of your original colours, but thankfully it's not actually used any more is it? And as LackingInspiration says (in a post that belies her name) it would tone in nicely with the purple bits.

Even a proper grey (like the Discussion of the Day tab) would look better with the other colours on the page.

(Btw, I do appreciate how difficult it is to get people to agree on webpage colours - when I was redesigning our school website earlier this holidays I asked for Mumsnet opinion on various shades of blue and got a massively wide range of opinions)

And I do appreciate the facility....

It's taupe. IMO.

And a jolly good idea, thank you.

The colour's fine. But the selection boxes have definitely got squashed in the process!
