Brussels has lots of amazing foodie markets. On Sunday mornings there's a north African souk that surrounds the Midi Station. At the same time, at Place Flagey, alongside a lake and gardens, is a farmers market with foodtrucks offering organic veggie dishes, succulent burgers, oysters, and champagne at €4 a glass!
La Mer du Nord is the most amazing seafood street vendor. They've won so many awards and always have a queue.
At lunchtime, the tasting room at new cheese shop La Fruitiere offers mixed platters, fondues and inspired sandwiches (think warm smoked ham and raw milk tomme du jura or fresh Belgian goat’s cheese on sourdough baguettes) with well-priced wines by the glass.
Peaceful Chouconut serves incredible jewel-bright miniature choux buns flavours like lemon and yuzu, pear and blackcurrant, and chocolate caramel and peanut . Its chocolate and Guérande salt shortbread or mango and passion fruit caramels make perfect gifts!
We had a chocolate dessert at Humphrey's where we had to smash a chocolate dome to reveal gorgeous Belgian chocolate truffles.

Ooh that all sounds fantastic. Thank you for the replies, sounds like enough to keep us busy for the weekend.

That have a military museum which gave the history of Belgium which was interesting but a big tip-take ID with you as we weren't allowed to use the headphones for translation without ID and my French and Flemish is more than rusty.
Lots of beggars around Grand Place.
Have a fab time

If you're traveling Ryanair or other budget airline to Charleroi book a transfer with flibco on their website. A taxi is really expensive as it takes about an hour to get to Brussels centre. It drops off at gare de de midi where you can get the metro or a taxi easily from there to your hotel.

If you go by Eurostar you have free travel in Brussels. Don`t know how it works as we only found out on our departure!
