Any suggestions? Europe only

Gran bahia del duque, Tenerife.
Siam park is five minutes away by car.

The sensatori hotel in Tenerife, also close to Siam park,

Not Europe, but the Atlantis in Dubai is good. Don't go in August though, too hot

Depends if you want an official five star or a spanish five star.
Sensatori by Thomson, is nice but imho, not a true five star.

The Abama in Tenerife is a better 5 star than sensatori

I agree about the sensatori brand, been to 3 niw, they're 'good' hotels but def not 5 star. We are going to the annabelle in paphos this year, I believe there is a waterpark nearby too.

Abama is miles and miles away from the waterpark. Decent hotel, but bahia del duque is the best located and nicest hotel in the vacinity

Martha, annable is a nice property. Have fun.

Ooh that is interesting about the sensatori as just been looking at them

Have been to The Annabelle as few years ago Martha and it was fabulous.

Thanks for the ideas
I had sort of avoided Tenerife as an option after being scarred by the experience of Playa as a teenager! Might need to look again

The sensatori brand is VERY well marketed! The reality is somewhat mediocre.

Yes, it is in the costa adeje area in tenerife you should look at.

Fab place very close to Siam Park (absolutely fantastic also)

Howmuchisthatdoggyinthewindow Tue 28-Jun-16 21:35:12

What is Siam park?

Hadn't thought of a villa. Hmm. Might miss the kids club?

monkeywithacowface Tue 28-Jun-16 22:09:16

Huge water park It's brilliant, wave pool is epic!

They are villas by within a complex so you can still do bed and breakfast, half or full board type stays (also room serVice to your villa) There is a small kids club which does a timetable of activities but more like drop for an hour type thing rather than all day. The breakfasts were amazing and the villas and service was stunning.

Siam Park is a fabulous, massive waterpark in southern Tenerife. There is a free bus that goes round Los Cristianos, Playa de las Americas and Adeje and maybe other resorts to take you there.

Another Tenerife option - we stayed in the Iberostar Anthelia once, it's billed as 5 stars but more like a really good 4+ star. Somewhat cheaper than the Bahia Del Duque and you can have a duplex suite so DS slept downstairs from us, but all in the same hotel room.
Lovely hotel right beside the beach.

Anthelia is a nice four star, but bahia del duque is a very good five star. Very different price points, but very different levels of service and quality.
