Pas de Calais - coast between Baie de Somme and Le Touquet. P and V have a number of self catering complexes . Belle Dune has activities on site including an indoor/outdoor pool whereas others are standalone blocks of apartments or smaller sites of rental houses/apartments.

Around the Baie de Somme is wonderful. We were in Le Crotoy last summer and had a fabulous time. There is lots of small scale, local fishing going on in the bay so Le Crotoy has infinitely more fresh fish stalls than ice cream places but also has good ice cream/waffles, boulangerie etc plus a couple of excellent butchers and a small supermarket. Lovely for pottering around, the beaches are more playing, kites etc than swimming and sunbathing because the bay empties when the tide goes out which is fab as you can walk right across to the other side and see loads of little fish and crabs and things left behind in pools of water. When the tide is in there are loads of boat trips over to the nature reserve to see birds, to see seals and as you pass the little fishing boats bobbing around you generally get cheery waves and they hold up their catch for you to see. There are great beaches for swimming just 15 min drive up the coast. Oh and there is a steam train too. If kids are small then it is fab as you can walk everywhere and there is always stuff to explore and if kids are older then lots of watersports to try out.
