Has anyone stayed here? I've read very mixed reviews. We go on Sunday for 3 nights and I don't know what to expect. The worst reviews I read were things stolen out of the safe in a room, unsecure doors and locks on rooms, not feeling safe, things going missing. I'm sure its not going to be this bad but am a little worried!

Hi stopthenoise obviously can only give you our experience, but we stayed in November last year and had no problems (sure it wasn't 5* accommodation-we were in a room that had yet to be refurbished).it was about 15 min walk into the park, breakfast ran smoothly (not a bun-fight in site) and it was fine - was just used as a base for sleeping at night as the rest of the time we were too busy in the parks.hth and have a lovely time.i LOVE DLP!

Thank you, its reassuring to hear a good experience! I understand not everyone that visits will be happy but there's some right horror stories! Were there many characters around the hotel when you went?

We go to Santa Fe in 10 days so watching this thread with interest! how long are you going for stop?

stopthenoise Tue 30-Apr-13 08:20:54

We're staying for 3 nights. Its the security that worries me from what I have read. Would like to know our belongings are safe in the room whilst we're out all day! I shall post back here when we have been.

I stayed there in February and I loved it, decorated in cars style. It is more like a motel.

I felt safe there.
The restaurant in the evening was great.

I would love to go back.

They always had a character in the entrance near reception in the mornings-we saw goofy one morning but best place to see characters was cafe mickey (we did a breakfast there one day) and inventions in the disneyland hotel (expensive but worth it IMO if budget allows!).safety-wise didn't feel unsafe-nothing was taken from the room or anything like but I tend to keep passports/money on me rather in the room anyway wherever we go on'll love dlp -counting down til September when we go back.make sure you stay up to watch dreams at park closing -fantastic!

Were staying there in Sept too so would be grateful if you could post about the hotel when you return, and any other tips too!

SaidFlorence Wed 01-May-13 11:43:55

I've stayed there. It was a few years ago though, but I though it was great.
Our room was a good size. We left belongings/passports etc in the room and never worried or felt unsafe.
The food at breakfast and dinner was great - plenty of choice and plenty of seating.
I don't have any complaints about it at all.

Staying there in 12 days for 5 nights, so hoping it will b ok!

bishboschone Wed 01-May-13 11:46:49

We stayed there last year and its absolutely fine . Like someone else said its not 5 star but you are only sleeping in the room. I would say the only downside was the size of the rooms . But I think that's a French thing rather than a hotel thing. Don't use the bus it's a lovely walk along the river in the morning . Much more peaceful . Any questions please ask :-)

Oh thanks everyone. It's so reassuring to hear good stories. We go on Sunday, ds is very excited. We're only there for 2 days but hopefully will get to see and do everything we want to. I'm looking forward to the dreams show!

Rosvita Wed 01-May-13 21:24:55

We are only going for 2 days when we return in September-t was that or nothing considering transport, costs, school etc so I decided 2 days was better than no days!make sure you see the parade and dreams, prioritise what you want to do,make use of fast pass on the rides that allow you to do this, extra magic hours, check height restrictions and ride closures on'll have a fab time!also agree with a pp -we never bothered with the hassle of the shuttle bus and walked from Santa Fe into the park every morning/evening.

trikken Wed 01-May-13 21:31:21

is there much to do for little ones? dd is three and Im a bit worried there might not b much for her to do.

Rosvita Thu 02-May-13 07:17:48

Oh yes lots for a 3 year old.we went last year and dd was just dining up for 2 to and she loves it-loved the characters, although she couldn't go on all the rides of course there was lots that she could go on-its a small world, buzz light year, haunted house etc.and she loved the parades and dreams.i'm sure she remembers it now as she points to the telly ad for dlp and says 'wow, disneyland'!

trikken Thu 02-May-13 08:27:52

aw, sounds good. thanks.

toucancancan Thu 02-May-13 08:48:15

Any tips on the best places to eat where it's not a rip off?

gillywillywoo Thu 02-May-13 09:34:34

We always stay in one of the partner hotels "dream castle" which is excellent.
Know lots of people that stay in Santa Fe and love it... You will have an amazing time!! smile

Rosvita Thu 02-May-13 09:46:08

Toucancancan I'm by no means a seasoned dlp traveller however I would say the cheapest places to eat are McDonalds (in the village) and casey's corner on Main Street.expect to pay a fair amount for any sit down meal.rainforest cafe cost us about £100 including drinks (pints for dh were very expensive wherever we were). If you check out dlp magic website you will find links to info on all the eateries, rides, opening hours, parade times etc-it's a great site.

MelanieCheeks Thu 02-May-13 10:00:03

Ooh, gilly that's interesting - we are staying in the Dream Castle at the end of June. It's my stepson's 18th birthday - he has Downs and is a big Disney fan, so we're all looking forwadr to it.

Any advice on getting from CDG airport out to DLP?

rachywhite83 Thu 02-May-13 10:02:13

We got the train from CDG and it takes you directly to the park gates.
Fabulous service

gillywillywoo Thu 02-May-13 10:07:11

Ah Melanie you will love it!!!!!!!!! smile

No advice on the airport front though... We always get the tunnel and drive!

Shuttlebus service from dream castle to the park is frequent and quick. The hotel is big, clean, spacious... Lovely gardens and grounds at the back... Breakfast is lovely... Ahhh I want to go again!!!! grin

bishboschone Thu 02-May-13 12:53:06

We got the train from cdg to dlp once . This time we took the Eurostar from Ashford to dlp which was brilliant !

trikken Thu 02-May-13 12:56:48

we are doing the eurostar from ashford, getting really excited reading this thread. only 11 days to go!

bishboschone Thu 02-May-13 13:52:26

The train is great .. smile
