Condoms/KY jelly causing thrush??

Hello. I've just started to get intimate with a new partner and we've used regular Durex "featherlite" condoms and KY jelly. I've now got thrush and I'm fairly sure its either the condoms or KY jelly that's caused it. I have had issues with thrush in the past with my ExH. Can anyone recommend a condom and lube brand that's less likely to set off a case of thrush??

I think condoms are unlikely unless you have a latex alergy. You can get latex free condoms. Frequent indulgence after a drought can cause issues regardless though.

Lube? Plenty of oral; saliva is nature’s lube, but if you must use something else look out for almond oil.

PS: And go for a wee immediately after sex.

Could well be the latex. It happened to my partner until we stopped using condoms.

Try skyns latex free, I think my vagina is a bit sensitive to latex seems better with these.

Thrush can be transmitted by receiving oral sex.

I think its possible. In our experience anything which changes the normal friction can lead to irritation and sometimes thrush. Condoms certainly change the friction and KY jelly is a very viscous lubricant that stops working well unless you moisten it regularly. I would try something more liquid like durex sensilube or a silicon based one

I had a similar issue a few year’s ago. So yes it could be.
