Anyone had any experience of sex therapy?

After years of my DPs libido declining and the quality of our sex life diminishing to the point where we are now effectively in a sexless marriage, we agreed this morning to attend sex therapy as a last resort to save our marriage before we go our separate ways.

Has anyone been to sex therapy and would you mind sharing your experience, results, and what to expect?

Yes we did. Was and wasn't helpful. Helped in the short term but longer term things went back to how they were.

Has your sex life ever been great?

Sex therapy will not address this issue. Does your partner have no interest in sex? Is it his libido or is he bored having sex with you, to the extent he can’t be bothered trying?
The latter is very common with men of a certain age. Lots of people get to the point where they’d really just rather not, certainly with longstanding partners. This does not necessarily mean they should separate.

If it is psychological and it is only your DP then perhaps individual therapy would be better to see if there are underlying issues.

Or

Try going tantric.

A good sex therapist will help you process your issues
*A sex therapist can help people with various sexual problems, including:
In men:
lack of desire
difficulty getting or keeping an erection (erectile dysfunction)*
from the NHS website
I believe therapy is worth pursuing.

I think sex therapy could address the issue but if the route is you've never had great sex and the chemistry, sex therapy can't fix that. It you had a good base to start with, there's more hope.
