Sex

Parents - when do you have sex?!

Just that really!

We have 2 children under 4 years old. In the evenings we're exhausted and in the morning the kids are up at the crack of dawn (think 5:30am onwards) or woken by any noise.

I think it's starting to affect our relationship. Although we're very loving we're lacking intimacy and that's something I really want to rekindle.

Babysitters or suck up the tiredness and do it anyway.

Or get them to nap together.

I know you're tired. But remember, it doesn't actually take that long! (No need for a marathon session.) What time do you head upstairs to bed? Could you both commit to going up half an hour earlier once or twice a week?

It's easier when they are little than it is when they are teenagers!
You have to put the effort in occasionally on an evening. After they have gone to bed, give a bit of time for each other. Doesn't always have to be sex, but intimacy is important if you want to keep your relationship alive.

We used to get hubby to go into work a bit later and wait until everyone had left the house, we now home educate our 10 year old and things have slowed down in the bedroom, our 8 year old is disabled and by the time we get him into bed and stop running around after him it's late and if he does go to sleep early the others 19 and 22 come home so that puts a damper on things. It's difficult as I sometimes want more than a quickie .
But we still kiss and cuddle and are very close.

Pre baby number 2 we'd pop home for 20 mins before collecting DD from nursery.

Now when DD1 is at school and baby is asleep, less often evening as soon as both are asleep.

When I was married with 2 under 2, we made it a priority, as without sex you may as well just be friends. Even if it's not PIV every time, we managed it 3-4 times per week. A lot has to be down to attitude, I'd never be too tired for it

Mostly in the evenings. We sometimes go to bed knackered with no intention of anything but end up dtd anyway! Also agree on the ipads...plug the kids in and bolt the door
