Riverston has great pastoral care apparently and is very supportive of its pupils. Not a greatly academic school though.

My son is at Riverston and he is very happy there. His English and Maths have improved immeasurably since he started, due to the fact that the classes are very small and he has to concentrate the whole time. Although it is mixed, there are more boys than there are girls. The years mix well together as everyone knows everyone else. It has a real "family" atmosphere. It is non-selective so has pupils of all standards of academic ability. The "more able" follow a slightly more challenging curriculum for some subjects.

Thanks MrsGrayling,

My son went for the assessment on Tuesday and spent the whole day. He came back home all smiles saying how he loved it etc. His feedback echoes what you have written. I now have a dilemma as he has also been offered a comp after much fighting for him to go there. Riverston was a back up but am now contemplating sending him there althought the fees are a worry. Thank you so much though

I've been trying to find out some information on Riverston for a while. I found this information on their results. Might be useful:

Did any of your kids go? We are now looking at it for DS who has speech and language delay and wondering how you are finding it.

Hi debs23281
I'm trying to get my daughter in on her EHCP but the fees are 3xs the amount on the Plan.
DD had a successful trial week, but I don't get why the LA let us have this if it's too expensive?
Any advice gratefully received x

I would be very keen to hear from anybody who has a child in the Reception class onwards.

We have a child attending currently, who has been in their Early Years setting from nursery, but am really unsure whether to keep them there going beyond pre-school.... It is a very big commitment we will happily make but have found very little info from parents of school pupils so far, is it a happy ship? How big are primary school classes? Staff/pupil ratio?

I am so torn.... and very undecided! Any other local recommendations?

Hi,
I’m looking for some up to date information on Riverston School.
I’m looking for a school that can provide assistance to our son who has specific leaning needs, namely Dyslexia and ASD.
I’ve met with the head and am going to re-visit, as unsure if mainstream or independent Will suit our child best.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Also does anyone have info on similar schools in the area or Kent?
Thanks in advance!

Anyone got a child at Riverston school in Eltham? I’m particularly interested in senior school as our son is 11. He has asd, very academically able but has severe social anxiety. We’re looking around tomorrow as our LA are consulting with the school.
