Is in year 10? They do more modules in year 11 and won't get the full results until next year. That what happend to DD3 anyway. She did recieve 2 GCE's in science in year 11 although she'd taken one in year 10.

Which exam board is it (Edexcel or AQA - doesn't sound like OCR) It will be different depending on which it is.

If it's Edexcel it looks as though 36/40 = A*, 32 = A, 28 = B etc, going down in fours.

Wait til he goes back to school next week, then contact the teachers - they should be able to tell you. If they can't, then they can get the exams officer to tell you, or contact the exam board on your behalf.

My DS did AQA Science and his results were out of 100.

We had a sheet that told us how the scores (UMS?) translated into grades. My DS is doing triple Science so he is only half way through the course. IIRC, if he were doing double Science, the Y10 grade would be final (unless remarking/resitting).

Yes, just double checked and that's right.

Regardless of what exam board or subject it is, all results are quoted as "Uniform Marks" and the grade boundaries are 90% A*, 80% for A etc, so you should be able to work out the RE grade too.

Hi, thanks so much for taking trouble to reply! Pineneedles I think those marks out of 40 will be what he did! So he got an A and a B for Bio and physics, and a C for chem. And a B for his RE. I spoke to a friend today and she said 'the bands are on the back of the slip' but we didn't go into school for them - it was an email. They still not come in post!

Well done to him then! I expect, as they are "only" modules and he will be back in school very soon, they will just be handed out to pupils directly.
