Well done to your DSs results.

Please can I show off about my dd1s exam results - I have told my dh and my parents, but I haven't got anyone else to tell and I am at home on my own at the moment, bursting to tell someone!

She got 8 A*s and 5 As. So pleased for her - she was actually fed up about 3 of the As so I told her not to be so silly and go off with her friends to celebrate.

Thank goodness the wait is over!

Congratulations to all of you! I've got a few years to go yet, DD is just going back into yr8, but she has a lot to live up to already. She's been promoted into the grammar stream!

So, who's lo's are doing what now? Sixth form? Work?

My dd is going into the 6th form to do her A levels - more exams, more worrying! At least one hurdle is over.

(She wants to be a dentist, so should be really happy with her GCSE results as she was worried that she might not get high enough grades - silly girl!)

My DS1 shocked me (in a good way), he got 10 C's and 2 D's - and the 2 D's were for exams he didn't take as he was in hospital and were what the school had predicted for him

Excellent Mika and his plans? (Aren't I nosy?)

DS1 did as expected, 2 A and the rest A*.

My pupils did better than I expected

DS1 is off to 6th form college (we don't have 6th forms in our schools here). He goes to enrol on Thursday when he has to make his final A level choices. Currently considering English Lit, History, French and Philosophy.

9 As and 1 A* here. Absolutely gobsmacked. DD1 walking on air as only predicted Cs in Maths and Latin. Dp's 50th birthday as well so celebrations all round

Wow! That's an impressive choice, BIWI! O sat in on a Yr12 English Lit lesson, just before the end of term and they are all so knowledgable! Far more than I ever was/could be! Very best of luck to him, in whatever he decides.

I hope my DD has as much direction, as all yours have in a few years time. This week she's going to be an Olympic high jumper! She jumped the highest in her year at school, this year!

Well my dd is just about to start primary school so not really qualified to post

but

my sister got her GCSE results today, ranging from A* to C.

She is chuffed to bits about her maths too (C), her maths teacher was sacked for being crap last year and she was struggling anyway.

Excellent news for your sister Tigerfeet! I'm loving this thread! I'm not in GCSE year either, but I do love a proud mummy/sister moment!

Oh gosh - bad cross posts! about the GCSE, about the op. Hope she's OK?

Report
TigerFeet · 21/08/2008 14:45

she's fine, a bit groggy due to GA

She has had an infected lymph node removed, all routine and planned for but the date was moved to today at the last minute. She was only in hospital for about 6 hours.

DS1 got 4 A*, 7A and a B, eerily thats exactly what he predicted yesterday that he'd get! So proud of him.
