Hi all
Did anyone’s dot sit the second stage tiffin girls test today? Curious to know their thoughts, my daughter thought it was a tough paper not designed to be finished!
Thanks

I think the Tiffin Stage 2 exams are always time pressured. Daughter felt possibly easier than stage 1 Maths but still left some questions out. Roll on March 2!

We sat Tiffin boys which I think may have been the same paper. It was hard. Maths and English. dS finished the paper but with no time to check 😳

Were they the same stage 2? My child seems to have experienced a different English paper to the girls in class.

Could be him though!

I’m not sure Lupus - good question- I got the impression from speaking to a friend’s DD that stage 1 was the same but who knows

Hi JustJuice187,

Did Tiffin's stage 2 include an essay? Or just multiple-choice English and Maths similar to stage 1?

Thanks X

I thought you had to get the results of Stage 1 before you sat Stage 2?

They aren't the same.

For future Tiffin applicants. For 2022 entrance, Stage 2 boys consisted of maths and eight-questions English, of which one question was to write an essay on the topic of 'unexpected meeting with someone, a story that can happen in real life'. The other questions were text-related. 50 mins for English. 45 mins for maths. Maths tasks get harder towards the end. Some were really hard as he explaned them to us and we agreed. Otherwise, there was enough time.

Re “there was enough time”. I disagree. There wasn’t enough time when my child sat it (& passed it, not waitlist). So don’t worry if your daughter doesn’t finish. Mine even missed off a whole section in English; missed several maths qus too! was convinced they wouldn’t pass!
