And if you do, what happens?

*Ds school infamous for not coping with any kind of new regulations instructructions etc. Fidnt think anything of it. Only when a huge discrepancy from all his progress and the grades hed been getting to date in his coursework which counted getting to date 70% and a piece of set work which barely even started when school got closed his markes went down to 46%. We font know how its happened. School seem unable to explain but have given me a form with it on. They should a I understand has assumed the second just started module was completed to a standard in line with his work and produced a grade similar to that o think.anyone any ideas? The school did the for art pre u as well as they get advice but devise their own preferred plan.. none of the arts have been completed as if the students have reached their potential.
*Would it concern you if the teachers you discoveted ended up "teaching" (they fidnt as they knew nothing about it) an art craft and design a level in textiles were not art teachers and had no textile or sewing experience.
furthermore it's also pretty well known by the year that one of the students work is not their own.. a family member had been producing the thing online on the sales website. (It was removed about 18mth ago) this child has started bringing in items he has mad at gime at axdpeef no one other than a professional could possibly achieve. The teacher never noticed and gave a A I dont want to rock the boat, but school os a mess. My don is heart broken, only about textile design. Because his marking yo work had do carefully been checked all along to ensure he was on s ale and because all his design work is fo personal. He designs and makes unusual rational tailored clothes in modern ways which he learnt uo fo himself and they are part of a huge are collection already for his do hes taken it not as a lie grade, hes taken it as a personal insult. Its had a dramatic impact on him mentally and school needs to be aware there responsible for thus and managing it.

Meanwhile what experience have you had and what fo I do.?

Seriously, you think the teacher, the Head of Year, the Head of subject and the senior leadership team all misunderstood the instructions from the DfE on how to calculate CAGs?

Are you saying that the guidance for A levels and Pre Us was different, and that the school used the wrong guidance for the A level CAGs?

It sounds like this is a specific problem within the arts department of your school. I think only they can tell how they distributed the grades. It sounds like they have only taken into consideration the evidence that they have had on hand at the time.

Were you typing that in your sleep? I had real trouble following it because of all the errors so I gave up.

The exam board has confirmed the school has incorrectly followed the guidance for awarding the pre-u grades. They have misunderstood cambridge international's instruction to use available work to help determine a predicted grade and instead used the work to give a grade based in this work alone with out allowing for probable future progression on the course to the end date. Cambridges verbal explanations were pretty apalling however I would have thought sticking to the same theme as the other boards would have made sense. The exam board are aware of this. The A level grades are still being followed up.
It seems that management teams havent all understood the instructions after all @spanieleyes

Is Cambridge Assessment allowing a resubmission of CAGs?

It's good that you got some answers

@GlamGiraffe

See here.

Where a centre did not follow the Ofqual guidance, they do have grounds for appealing themselves.

They say as they are not a UK based examination board (they're international) they do not specifically follow Ofqual's guidance which seems ridiculous if they're offering qualifications here).
It's now in debate as uo what should happen as the intention and the manner of reading havent matched up.
When they explained their own instructions verbally (as they had been given out) it is perfectly possible to see how it would be understood to only grade on work existing at that stage.

Ah, i was rather hoping the A levels weren't Cambridge. Yes, they can probably do what they like...

I don’t quite understand the problem, but the gist is that he’s not got the grade he feels he deserves? Is this impacting what he does next?
