Anyone else waiting for the email today to see if their sons have made it through to the interview stage for CLS 10+?

Thought I'd create a thread to distract me from refreshing my emails every few minutes. DS found VR and English ok but thought the maths was much harder than the specimen paper.

Best of luck to all those waiting.

Thanks for starting thread. We are not there yet for 10+ but having been through 11+ with another child I am more clued up these days and researching earlier. Interesting that the maths was much harder than the specimen paper.

Sound like English and VR OK. Was there anything else or just those three for the exam?

Any ideas on numbers and places this year?

Hello AtomicRabbit

According to the school website
11+ sitting exam will be
English, Maths and Verbal and Non verbal reasoning.
I do not know the numbers especially for 10+ but another 11+ thread said 800 boys registered for 11+ exam this year!

Congratulations on those who get offer!

My ds is on the reserve list at the end.
I don’t think many boys will decline offer at 10+ so I feel I can not hope.
Does anyone know about reserve list situation at 10+ in the past?
I know it varies but we are not happy about his current primary school( eg.a sort of bullying)
so really hope he will have a chance.......

I got an email from school and sounds like no one could get in from their reserve list.
Since my son’s school situation is in a sort of crisis,my son’s health condition got worse sadly......

I don't think you can be sure right up until September on the day the new school year starts.

Some families move away and another scenario is that some children hold more than one offer and will be holding them right up until August/September when they finally decide. Yes they will pay two or sometimes three deposits so they have more time through the summer to think through which school they genuinely want.

Have you asked what number you are on the waitlist? I would phone them back and say you are very keen and would accept a place immediately.

Congratulations on the waitlist offer too. It's a very hard school to get into so your DS has done well. I think from memory of another thread there are approx 48 places and they make about 56 offers - so you're DS could be very close.

Again phone and check to be sure.

Last year's stats for you:

City are taking 44 boys for ten plus, so two classes.

They had 230 applicants and are bringing back 25% for interview so 58 boys.

58 boys for interview for 44 places.

Dear @AtomicRabbit

Thank you very very much for your kind words. I could not stop crying.......

My son’s school head promised us to ask about the situation of waiting list.
However he didn’t at the end.
Since my husband said we should follow and trust him for his 11+ reference/confidential report, I am not sure if we could ask from us.
Sadly my son has got harassment and bullied at his current school so I am also thinking to move him to another primary/prep schools but unfortunately no occasional places at this moment.
I will take your advice to wait for the news.
Thanks again!

Just found this thread.
Did anyone on the reserve list for 10+ get an offer for a place in the end?
