Who's awake

I'm awake waiting for GCSE results for DS2.

He's worked so hard, but dyslexic and not sure where the results are going to take us. So so much harder second time around.

Confused

Me. DD is probably awake too.

This wait is hellish.

It's just so hard isn't it?? I've got a plan B and maybe a plan C but now really annoyed with self that I didn't take it more seriously applying to sixth forms back in December time.

(Was kidding self he was going to stay on at private schoolSadConfused)

When and how do you get to hear? DS2 gets to log in from 6 I think (or it could be 8), my friend's son has to go and do the envelope ShockConfusedat the school.

Me! DD has been so anxious, we are in Wales so it’s the lettering system here. DD needs a B in English to be allowed to do the A level English at 6th form along with RE, Sociology and the compulsory Welsh Bacc.
She’s also hopping for a B in maths to keep her options for teaching open.
Roll on 8.30!

DS2 has asked that's he's allowed to log in on his own and come to terms with results before telling me 😮😮

See with DS1 I had his log in!!! DS2 more private ... arrgghh

Wow my ds has go to go school from 9.30am onwards, he is planning to be there for 9.... I've been awake since 2 but I have insomnia so it's normal for me.

I posted on much earlier threads but have not been on in months. Ds has Aspergers and convinced himself he has failed everything. He was really sick during the second English language paper and vomited and didn't finish. He's devastated over that as needs it for entry into sixth form college. His school doesn't have a sixth form.

His options are photography, art, drama and history. He said he won't even get a grade 4 in history. His best friend thinks ds has done better than he realises but we will find out in just over 3 hours and 40 minutes!

Good luck to everyone's dc.

@Zoflorabore that's tough! Hopefully they will get what they need to get them forward.

I've always said DS2 will shine when out of education.

We’ve got to wait until 10am to find out the results! Have had an awful nights sleep. DS was diagnosed with autism literally a couple of weeks before the GCSE’s started. Another one who has convinced he’s failed then all Hmm

Good luck everyone. It was me last year... and will be again next year. I know how anxious the wait is!

Not great news here. Lots of cuddles and reassurance.
Good luck to all of you and you children, whenever you get your results.

Another one here who has to wait til 10am. DS is worried about maths but just looked at grade boundaries and now just keeping everything crossed that he's done enough 🤞🏻

DD did very well, 5A’s, 4B’s, 3C’s. She got A’s in the subjects she wants to study at 6th form so she has enrolled and is over the moon. We can breathe again now!

Good luck to everyone's DC's today. If it's "bad news", just remember, there's always another path to life. I have two grown up DC's, early 20s, one did brilliantly, one did terribly - both found their way to uni. Now, it's the one who did "badly" who's on the better path. It all works out in the end.

Happy ds here, he did well.
9, 7 and 6 in his chosen A level subjects which are photography, drama and art respectively. As predicted, he got a 3 in history but was 2 marks off a 4. His teacher said the boundaries for history were way higher than last year.

He got his 5's in English for college and passed everything except maths which he is disappointed with but will re-sit, he got a grade 3. I'm so proud of him :)

Congrats to all of our fab kids.

Thought I'd better to check in as I started it all off. DS2 surpassed our and everyone's expectations by getting 7,8s and a 9. He got a 4 in Eng Lang although disappointed amazed at his other results.

Well done to all, just realised that next big milestone will be A level results along with end of degree in the same year. 😮
