Where is the best place for DC to do homework.
In their bedroom or in a room where you can keep an eye on them.
Thanks.

Depends on the child.

My DD is quite happy in her room and gets things done.

DS is doing A levels, but still needs to be downstairs where I can keep an eye on him. He is very easily distracted - virtually everything is done on his laptop and/or requires access to the internet, and he just can't control the temptation!

My kids have desks in their rooms but mainly do it in the dining room where they can spread out. Nothing to do with keeping an eye on them but handy if they have a question. Not that my son ever seems to have any homework to do... whereas my daughter has loads!

DS1's school has a homework club in the library for an hour after school, so quite a lot gets done there.

eldest is about to start secondary school so is getting a nice new desk in her room that she has chosen in the hope she will feel inspired to sit at it and do her homework! no idea if this will work or not but otherwise it will be back in the conservatory as we have been during primary

DD1 did her h/w upstairs but DD2 is 5 years younger so it wasn't fair to have to keep DD2 quiet downstairs. I spent a lot of time going upstairs to help.

DD2 (y9) has a desk in her room, but mainly does h/w on the dining room table. She needs a fair amount of help/encouragement so it works well. Occasionally she'll do an English essay or similar upstairs, but maths & science are definitely downstairs!
