Scalby School and Danby C.E. Primary School

We're looking to relocate our glamping business to the North Yorkshire coast to be nearer family. We're looking at primary schools for ds (Yr2) and secondary schools for dd (Yr8) in the Whitby to Scarborough section of the coast and inland by about 5 miles.
Scalby School has caught our attention because of its Progress 8 score last year. Looking at previous threads, the school seems to have had its ups and downs. Can anyone tell me what the school is like now?
I was looking at Danby C.E. Primary School because it seems to have a good educational ethos. However, their Ofsted report is ' Requires Improvement'. I would love to find a primary which didn't set too much homework. I'm not a great fan of homework for primary aged kids.
We also be interested in views on other primary and secondary schools in the area.
