Putney High Secondary Uniform going FREE!

Hi, I have a decent stock of my daughter’s uniform from Putney High who is going into 6th form so is done! She is immaculate so it hardly looks worn. I’d really like to give it to someone who is on a bursary as uniform can be abhorrently expensive and it would make me happy to give it to someone who needs it.

It will be confidential, but the bursar will obviously be able to tell you if this is possible and identify a possible recipient.

Doesn't Putney High do a second-hand uniform sale at the end of every academic year?

It's a lovely idea, OP, but you might find that the family of a child with a substantial scholarship wouldn't wish to be considered a 'charity case'.

What about taking it into a charity shop in an area where you know many Putney High girls live? Sure that at this time of the year it would be snapped up.

Yes - good idea! I wanted to give it away rather than someone paying even for 2nd hand.

I agree that uniform can be expensive especially when purchased from a specific supplier. At CLSG parents are asked to hand worn uniform to the school for the second hand sale so that everyone can access it.

My dd has friends on bursaries and uniform was part of the award.

DS's school PTA makes a fair amount of money out of the annual second-hand uniform sale. It's a thriving business and one which most parents are very happy to buy into.

DD has just grown out of her first secondary school blazer but her school doesn't offer uniform sales as a way to re-use/recycle items still in good condition. Such a pity.

I think only children on full or nearly full bursaries get a uniform allowance. I wanted to hand onto those who were on partial..uniform so expensive especially if you have kids at different schools.
Will speak to the bursar or failing that hand it to the 2nd hand sale but thanks all for your suggestions.

If anyone else’s daughter is going to PHS in September and would like it please shout. It’s really in great condition!
