What happens if a school ignores an admissions adjudication?

A very popular school in my area had a complaint against its 2019 admissions policy upheld by the Schools Adjudicator. Because of the timing of the judgement, they were told to make just some minor changes to the explanatory notes of their 2019 policy, but they didn't. They were also meant to make some more significant changes to their 2020 policy, but to do that they would have needed to consult and they haven't. They should have also published the 2020 policy by now, but haven't.

Are you missing a school place because of this? Because if you are, you could appeal and would probably get a place if the school has been shown not to follow the correct admission procedure or policy change.

You go back to the adjudicator and they will take some further action with the school. To some extent the further action will depend on whether the school is an academy or a state school.

As Admission says, you go back to the adjudicator. The school cannot ignore them. Their funding agreement stipulates that they must implement the adjudicator's decisions and sets out a timescale for doing so. Ultimately, they could lose their funding if they refuse to comply.
