Start using Mumsnet PremiumAppeal board - what do they know
(2 Posts)The panel is of three people at least one of which must have experience of education. All panel members also receive training on both process and issues like SEND, but they are not usually experts in the field.
The panel members will understand that pupils with ADHD have specific needs but they will also have been told at training and I am sure the Local Authority will reinforce that all schools should be capable of making suitable adjustments to accommodate any such pupils.
Your appeal should therefore not concentrate on because he has ADHD he needs to go to this school but explaining his needs and why the preferred school is so much better equipped to meet these needs. It is a fine division but a crucial one in terms of your appeal.
I’m in the process of writing an appeal as we didn’t the first choice school
My ds has adhd and I need to make his needs very clear
But does the board have knowledge of the local sen provisions ? Do they know the locals schools ? Are / were they teachers m?
And how much detail do I put in
Waffling On is probably a bad idea but how do you say all that needs to be said without waffling
So many questions- sorry
