Tormead - thoughts from all please

Hi, I am thinking of sending my daughter to Tormead, but we are in Weybridge so dont know many’s parents of daughters there. Any views good/bad would be appreciated.

I loved the Open Day, my child loves gymnastics and I think they are good academically. I have no knowledge of pastoral care or how pushy it is to get the good academics... thoughts on the school please. Thanks in advance!

my DD is there. If your DD likes gym then I think Tormead is the place (not that mine does it!). Academics are definitely good. It's thoughy of as the 3rd tier school in Guildford, GHS, St Cats then Tormead but all that means is that there is a slightly wider intake. Huge percentage of this year's L6 are on academic scholarships for getting 8 or more A*s...I do wonder if they will change the rules! Of course it's pushy on academics, but not excessively so, and each girl is treated as an individual. We live in the opposite direction from Guildford but some of my DD's cohort live in Esher and catch the school bus. Buses only leave at end of school day, 4pm, so if your DD does gym then bear in mind that you will be doing loads of late trips to pick her up. Guildford traffic can be horrendous! We are definitely happy with our choice!!

Thx so much! Is your DD into other sports? Some have mentioned it’s great for gym but you have to go off-site for others...?
I’m concerned with commute & the bus from here leaves early so the school day, then gym could mean a 12-13hour day... eek! Xx

No, I’m a year ahead of myself and looking for a place for yr 6 possibly, or yr 7 next year. My child’s current school does no gymnastics in their senior school
