Has anyone’s DS been for interviews at any of these schools for 2021. Any advice or opinions?

Thought I would bump this up again. Not asking this year’s parents to give interview questions but even from previous years some advice or opionions on these schools. Thank you.

There was another thread very similar to your only the other week I think on the education section you can do an advanced search.

Hi there, my boys have 'done' Eton and WinColl in the past few years.

Eton: really there are no trick questions, masters just want to see what sort of a boy they have in front of them. Your son will be asked about his interests - one of mine had a long discussion about the architecture of Welsh castles through the ages, while the other sang a chunk of the Mozart Requiem - also lots of questions about their extra curricular things, what they think about what books they've read, that sort of thing - Eton's trying to gauge what sort of a boy, whether he's suited to a busy boarding school and whether he's got the self-motivation and drive to actually make the most of what's there.

WinColl: only my first one went there for interview - much longer as he had a reasoning exam in it plus he had to read a poem out loud then do a oral comprehension, some mental Maths and lots of questions about what he thought about things.

Both had cheery experiences, hadn't prepared at all (well, vaguely clean uniform and shoes), and came out smiling. Neither school is trying to trick - they genuinely want to see the boys as they are.

I have DD's at Cheltenham Ladies' College so no direct experience but my gf has two sons at Harrow and said the entrance interviews were really fair and about seeing potential in the same was as Oxbridge does. Really good to see you doing all you can to give DS best opportunities. So many miseryguts on MN against these school but power to you. Well done. Message inbox anytime if want supportive chat. I'm in London and DD's board and they say its fantastic experience. My own time boarding was equally amazing.

Which does he want most? Where is his prep school? And happy support 100%. Those who criticise boarding schools usually are totally ignorant of the facts. CLC best choice ever for DD's.

Does anyone have experience of the interview or test for Radley Open List?. My son got through the pre test but we haven't had a boy go for Radley since they changed from Warden's list to Open List and I'm seeking some guidance.
