Year 7 reading comprehension workbooks + tips to improve

Can anyone recommend reading comprehension workbooks for year7/8? I have been looking for a while, but can't seem to find anything. I have cgp English but it doesn't have a lot of reading comprehension, I am looking for a workbook just for reading comprehension, like the ones you can get for ks1 and ks2?

Also any tips to improve reading comprehension? I think dc problems are, reading/answering questions too quickly, being vague and not bothering understanding the question... not sure what to do, any tips?

At this age I’d probably get a tutor in to do this as it’s not the easiest thing to teach. There are so many strands in Reading Comprehension. Parents In Touch website has some good resources. The Secret of Reading Comorehension is a book I use for 11+ prep which may be useful

Oh and read, read, read - newspapers, articles, different book genres really makes a huge difference
