We are re - locating from Scotland to England due to husbands promotion. My son is 11yrs old and in Scotland would be starting High school. We are looking at East Midlands area and have a few Necassaries on our list. 1. Good Ofsted report for high school. 2. Within driving distance from an airport. For access to Scotland 3. Good junior golf. Would really appreciate options so we can look at homes in the area, we have 6 months to make the best choices ☺️ TIA

It depends when he turned 11 as to what sort of school you need to be looking for.
If he turned 11 before 1st September he would already be in High School in England in year 7.

He'll miss the first year of secondary then and go in at the end of year 7 starting year 8 in September 2019.

What that means in practical terms is that you will be making an in-year application so it's all down to where has spaces available at that point.
