GCSE exams won't be during half term will they?

It's the only week we can all get off together to go and see family.

Exams won't take place that week will they Confused

Would it be really bad to go that week in the midst of exams. Child has Sen and is already anxious about exams so could give them a distraction. Would stay be able to revise.

Are there likely to be exams during those dates and if not is it a really bad idea?

Dates are 28th May to 1st June

No they won't be in half term. (The dates are on the exam boards' websites if you want them now.) it's not generally advised to go away in the middle of exams - but you're a better judge of that for your child.

Ignore this . Not going to go . My Mum threw a date at me and it threw me. They are in school for revision anyway.

No they won't be but taking a yr 11 away in may half term is a really bad idea.
If you know what boards they are doing for each subject, all the time tables are online, on the exam boards websites. You can see exactly when they will be.

No exams during half term (the week with the bank holiday).

I wouldn’t take a SEN child away - no point in adding stress. It’s four weeks of exams and important to maintain perspective.

No, but it will be incredibly disruptive to your child. Don't do it.

We have exams here during half term - it happens

If he's 16 it'll be cheaper to go away after as he's finished for the year anyway

DS did his GCSEs this year, none in half term but there is no way we would have gone away then. One of his friends did but apparently afterwards said it wasn't worth it as he spent the whole time either trying to revise or worrying about how getting enough done.

Thanks guys.
As I've said above we decided not to risk it. My Mum threw the idea at us and it caught me off guard for a moment!

May half term is the only one that is the same for all schools because of the exam timetable.

Fun fact!

2 weeks of exams, 1/2 term week, 2 weeks of exams, then a scattering of late ones like Additional Maths FSQM.

IB exams are proper fun - because they're international, they include May Day bank holiday!
