Hi parents

I recently visited both schools and found them both very good and will apply. Can some parents who send their children there make comments on how they're getting on the pros and cons to help me understand the schools better much appreciated
Niamh

Both great schools. Key difference is obviously Co Ed vs girls only, and Surbiton bigger intake. Pastoral at Kington strong (I don't have DC there, but close friends do). Hopefully someone will come along to give more insight into Surbiton

If you enter your dd for both and go through the exam, offer, "open day for offers" process by the end of it you will have a pretty good idea of which is better suited for your dd. Lots of dd sit both but with @ 60 places at KGS and 140 ish at SHS SHS is easier to get into. SHS is also recruiting a new secondary school head at the moment although this shouldn't impact the high teaching standards already in place. SHS has amazing sport and added aspects for dd's like the annual fashion show. KGS has better music and drama depts. At KGS they have a high level of participation in sport for all pupils on Saturdays, at SHS its the top netball and hockey teams who play. They are both good schools and I have a dd at 1 and a ds who was offered KGS but went for an all boys school instead. In the end it comes down to your dc and also transport links, never underestimate the number of times you have to go to the school for various reasons.

SHS has a new principal for the school group, Mrs Glover. They are currently recruiting a new head for senior school to replace Mr Silas Edmunds who is going to be head at a local mixed school, Ewell Castle i think.

Thank you for all your replies, I know with primary now the amount of times I'm in the school for various things so I can imagine with a distance how I'll make it through.

Another question do you find apart from the fees there are lots more costs during the year?

No there are not many unexpected costs at SHS & popular & well run 2nd hand uniform sales. You can bring a packed lunch from Year 10 so 3 years of paying for school dinners.
