Thanks mmzz.

Checking in to see it through to the bitter end Shock

I've reached the point where I'm looking forward to results day because at least it will make dd leave the house and interact with other humans Grin

That makes two of us, kick! I'm glad you wrote that because I thought I was the only one who hadn't persuaded their DC to get off the sofa all summer!

Thank you everyone. Just a quick post whilevwe are waiting for my parents to come back with the kids.

I didn’t post the names of what they were looking for today before as dh has been googling them but the first, most likely was an acoustic neuroma & the second more scary was meningeal deposits. It’s neither of those, and it wasn’t a stroke/TIA either. Whatever it is isn’t coming from the brain

So he is being referred to ENT at our local hospital. His main symptoms at the moment are dizziness, tinnitus, intermittent muffled hearing & tingling in one side of the face.

That sounds like very encouraging news indeed Alexander - as it is thankfully none of those awful scary diagnoses and not TIA/ Stroke either, have they considered Lymes disease or has that been ruled out? (I know I mentioned that right at the beginning and don't want to bang on about it, but it does sometimes get missed)

Teenmum - your dd has a dream job!

It seems like an omen - the golf course next door to us has a sign up asking for clubroom staff. A check of their website states 16+. I will be leaning on dd this evening to put an application in

info under the subtitle 'Symptoms that affect the nervous system', 4th paragraph down in the bulleted list 'Lyme associated neurological symptoms'

Could be a complete blind alley and red herring but worth the question to the medical professionals if they haven't ruled it out?

I do remember you mentioning Lyme disease & oddly enough I did mention it to dh today. Does that explain the deafness? Would it have shown up on the scan?

After all dh had spent two weeks by a fishing lake & he has had bites.

Thankyou mmzz for the thread. I wonder if this one will last us for the next 2 weeks?

A.Ham that does sound positive - I know you're still waiting for answers which is scary, but at least you know it's not the scariest possibility.
Imagine if hmc is right - diagnosis via Mumsnet is pretty impressive! And Lyme disease is completely curable so it would be such a great outcome.

AH let's hope now they have ruled out the scary things, a quick diagnosis and recovery will follow. Everytime you give an update on your DH, it always makes me think of Sost as well, so sending best wishes to Sost Flowers

Thanks for the new thread mmzz

https://www.tinnitusformula.com/library/lyme-disease-hyperacusis-tinnitus/ have you read this? It says Lyme disease and tinnitus are connected (as are some of the other symptoms too), but it's late stage Lyme Disease i.e. Several months after first infection.

My new name starts after the results are in, but before the new term begins. I quite like the shortness so it will be mmss, or mrs, or mrzis or whatever hasn't been used yet.

Oh gosh, if people start changing user names I'm going to lose track completely! Blush
It's strange the way you build a whole picture in your head of the person connected to each name - especially in these threads as I feel like I know (and am invested in) all your dc too!

Yes please to a clue Monger!

Am I the only one who can't read the thread title without singing it?

We're leaving together,
But still it's farewell
And maybe we'll come back
To earth, who can tell?
