The third things seem to be slowing down so I think there's a chance of getting to the 23rd with some space left!
If not, we can take our cue from Hollywood and just call it The Reckoning 2

Thanks [mmzz]. Still away but just able to catch up today, Wi-Fi is patchy! Glad to hear proms seem to have gone well. [Sost] hope you are feeling better.

I'm here!

Good to hear from @Sostenueto after her treatment.

Hugs to @AlexanderHamilton at a difficult and worrying time.

DS1 enjoyed his trip to Ben Nevis and is playing a huge amount of cricket - 3 matches in 4 days.

Went to see Hamilton on Wednesday and off to Wimbledon in Sunday - all go round here.

DS1 school has already loaded up his timetable for September on the parent portal and he's disappointed by the low number of free periods - I'm not!

Thanks so much for adding me.
Dd is camping in Devon with a big group of girls and one very brave mum.
She's finally tidied her room.
I'll catch up with you all properly tonight.

Thanks @mmzz

hi all
Thread 15 - who would have thought it!!! Do you think we are going for a record for the longest thread on MN

@Sostenueto and @AlexanderHamilton ThanksThanksthinking of you both

Last day at school yesterday so a bit of a monumental day. Probably best since she managed to get clay and glue on her school skirt, she has face paint on her shirt and face (war paint from sports day) and I would be ashamed to wipe the floor with her blazer.

Now it's the interminable wait until August. What's the betting that this post just about limps to results day and then goes crazy with joy, tears, 6th form decisions and general angst.

Lots hope it's all joy!!!

Let's hope it's all joy ....not lots hope it's all joy Smile

Hope you are all enjoying a good rest.

Thanks mmzz. Have you got a spreadsheet for that impressive list of names? Grin

Last day off proper lessons for DD2 today. Then two activity days and the summer holidays. I think DD1 is rather disappointed that her peaceful days at home are about to end!

Tomorrow she is going to help her friend buy a sixth form suit. I think friend's mum is very brave letting them do it without supervision. And friend may be a bit surprised to hear that DD1's sixth form dress code basically amounts to "not too scruffy"!

Checking in from deepest Borneo! WiFi is patchy but currently working. We're off out to watch 2 million bats fly out of a cave later.

Hope everyone is enjoying their summer. GCSEs are a distant memory at the moment. I expect we'll start counting down to results day once we're back in the UK.

Hi - glad mmzz pointed us to the new thread! I also suspect it's going to get very busy after results day.
Love to Alexander and Sostenueto.
Had a great day at Wimbledon yesterday. DS enjoyed playing with his concert band and they had an appreciative crowd Between now and results he has a music trip to Germany and a week away to look forward to.

Thanks for the tag! DD had her prom Wednesday night, I've not really heard anything about it as she is also on ncs residential - DH picked her and friends up from prom and dropped them off at post prom sleepover, then she went straight back to ncs the following morning! Should see her this afternoon!

AChickenCalledKorma no spreadsheet, I just sat tagging everyone on the old thread last night whilst watching question time. Then I copy-pasted the names over.

(In the ipad app, you just have to type @ and it comes up with a choice of names from the thread)

Yes, I predict the thread will start to get busy from the evening of the 22nd onwards, and stay that way until A levels have been chosen and everyone has their sixth form place.

Well DD has just popped home with a mate and a portion of chips. Ncs and school induction have finished for the week, but she has now gone to her old junior school to tell some of the y6 about a club she helps run at secondary. She is quite excited about going back to juniors!

Thankyou mmzz for the new thread and for tagging everybody!

Kick I'm so jealous, Borneo is too of my list of places I want to visit! Hope you're having an amazing time!
Same to everyone else already on holiday.

We go away next Thursday, I can't wait!
Before that DD is doing another week of working with pre school children with additional needs - long, hard days and she's shattered but loving it. She has so much patience l, I don't think I could do it.

Found you. DS is away on a geek trip with DH, visiting museums, mines and railways, so I've had a bit of a break from his relentless boredom.

Thanks mmzz and hugs and Thanks for sost and alexander

Finally got round to booking tix for live RSC screening of R+J next week. Persuaded DS2 to come too since he'll be starting on the play in Y10 in September. We might watch the Leonardo film version over the weekend.

DS1 starts lifeguard training on Sunday - 6 days of 8am starts (has to get up at 6am for the train) should liven him up a bit!!

Jealous of the Borneo adventures. DS was going to go there for school world challenge type trip but not enough interest so it was shelved. Am now quite glad as the stress of the trip plus fundraising plus GCSEs might have finished me off Grin

I've been doing buggerall except gym/swim and lying around in the garden. Roll on summer hols!
DS got holiday work details today from his Sixth form - not much except a sheet of maths, and a note to say they would have a maths exam the first day back!
