That depends on his school.

At the school I work in, there are mocks in June of Yr 10, then more in December and March of Yr 11.

Our school has end of y10 exams.
Then proper mocks the second weeks of January y11.
Then second mocks for Maths and English Lang only in March y11.

Many thanks.

So there isn't a set week for mock exams like there is for the actual GCSE's?

You need to ask your school, they all set their own mocks, there is no national timetable.
Our school does end of yr 10 exams, full mocks in December, then a few around Easter, just English and Science this year but depends on the teachers/faculty decisions.

At dds school they always have ks3 end of year exams just after May half term. At school, exam timetable, in classes.

Year 10 exam week was just before may half term. At school. Exam timetable. In hall. No study leave.

Year 11 mocks was the first two weeks in January. Study leave and exam procedures -
similar times so only went in for exam, non uniform, in exam hall, etc.

They have some extra science mocks coming up after Easter but they are in class time, though revised timetable to allow for the longer time needed. They've done 'mini mocks' in other subjects such as maths and computing but in class time over more than one lesson.

DD took her mocks in January this year. The school 9 miles away did theirs in November. It really is school specific, unlike the actual examinations.

And it all comes around far too quickly!

Have you looked at the school's website - does it have a calendar on or newsletter? Often they'll have dates of exams on there for this year - you may have to make the assumption that they won't change.
