Hi DS sat 11+ for Hampton boys on 3rd Jan.
has anyone heard back with interview offers.

Not yet - quite soon after the exam though still. Think scholarship interviews are next week then general interviews the following week so it might be a while yet

When DS sat 4 years ago, they call boys to interview in "batches" by their schools. So I would only worry if you know of other boys from your DS' school who have heard. The primary / prep school may know before you receive the letter. DS had his Hampton interview on the same day and time as about 5 other boys from his prep. They do it by school, but I think we heard no more than a week after the exam (I remember it was the same day as the Latymer Upper exam). Good luck!

I don't think they will be setting up any 'regular' interviews yet, which are from Sat 13th onwards, as there is such a short turnaround for the scholarship interview sessions, which start early next week.

When my son got called back it was about half of those that took the exam. There will be a lot interviewed that don’t get offered a place. There are a few that have 10+ offers and some already offered from a feeder school. So we worked out there were very few spaces left when you consider the scholarship offers too. Can anyone remember what they ask the boys in the Hampton interview? They say it's about 20 mins which is quite scarily long!

At DS' 11 plus interview they asked him whether Hampton was his first choice school and why (say yes and have a good reason)! They asked him what books he liked to read and his favourite subjects. I remember they also asked him what he thought made a good lesson. Apart from that, it was chitchat about hobbies.
I think five from his school were interviewed in the same format and they were all offered places. DS went elsewhere though.

Oh and they also asked him, "What do your parents do?"

Yes, my DS was asked that as well at an interview at Hampton about 5 years ago and I thought it was a pernicious and pointless question. I was really cross actually when I heard.

Hi, after an anxious week, my son got the letter today. She is so happy. Do people get asked about general affairs, or is it mostly personal life, friends, hobbies, etc? Can anyone share any info on the meeting with the Headteacher for parents? Many thanks!

My DS got called for scholarship interview. Do you know what % fee reduction is possible? Some old posts state that their DS had 50% off so I was wondering how this could be possible.

Just to add at 11plus Hampton are competing with grammar school places esp Tiffin so discount may be more.

Anxiously waiting for news on 13+ entry. Interview was done last week. Does anyone know if Yes and No's are both received on the 9th? Or do the No's go out first?

I know 2 that got scholarships last year one was 20% the other was less. HTH

They both come out on the same day. In previous years at Hampton large envelope good news, small thin envelope, not so good news. Some schools differ on this though.
