Reasonably Academic Full Boarding

Looking for a reasonably academic school either co-ed or girls' that offers full boarding with a reasonable number of full boarders and lots on offer during weekends as well as pastoral care and support. TIA.

Uppingham, Rugby Christ’s Hospital or Kings Canterbury. All I believe are full boarding only (i.e. no one goes home Saturday night) with a small number of day pupils. Marlborough is also full boarding only with a handful of day pupils but it’s more academic.
Any particular location?

All will state they have excellent pastoral care this is a given at boarding schools. It’s very subjective and at every school you’ll have some who think the pastoral care is fab others who disagree.

Re Malvern St James
The ISI report states just under 50% board and their own websites says they offer flexi weekly and full boarding. I’m unsure how the OP defines the term a “reasonable number” but looking at those fgures it would not be my on my list if I was looking for proper full boarding. This is not a criticism of the school per se I’m just not convinced it suitable for the OP.

A second vote for Marlborough. Academic if you want it to be but not pushy. Very busy programme both during the week and at weekends. My DD comes home shattered at exeats and breaks. Pastoral care is good and also with older kids taking responsibility for younger kids. I would say you need to be reasonably resilient to really thrive at the school but for my DD it has been fantastic.
