References to 11+ entrance for home-educated children

Hello!

Anybody whose child is home-educated applied to a private school where references are required?

We now register to schools for 11+ and on their registration form it is always saying: what is your current school phone/address/head teacher and "we will contact them for references". There is no tick-box or option for home-educated child.

What is the procedure for providing references from private tutors for the home-educated children (if you did it already)?

Maybe contact the schools and see what type of people they would like. Scout leader, tutor , family friend? Or nothing some state primaries won’t provide references.

Family friend is not unbiased surely? It must be someone who can judge the suitability of the child for the school. In this case school as opposed to home so even more critical. Therefore anyone who has a position where they see your DC in an educational or recreational area and can make a judgement on their suitability for school.

Mary21 and BubblesBuddy, many thanks for your reasoning.
Is there anybody who did have this experience?
( I just want to know how the process goes)
