We are looking at yr5 and bit daunted. Is it very hard to pass their entrance exams?

I'd like to know this as well!

OP - did you go to the Open Day a few days ago?

I’d say yes it is!

I have two DDs who went there in year 7 and their prep school prepared them like mad for the exam. Literally they did little else the term before except exam preparation. Practise papers all the time etc.

Great school, but very fast pace of work.

Got a younger one doing the year 5 entry test in January. She’s at a state primary where there’s no such intense preparation. I’m sure she has the same potential academically as her sisters.
So it will be interesting 😁

Remember entry to year 5 has only 16 places, so is a tough entry point compared to year 7.
DD took the entry for year 6 didn't get a place, but feed back was if she took entry for year 7 she would get in easily. As it was we choose a different school.
