Hi,
We are in the catchment for both schools. I have visited APS but not The Compton (I will do). I have heard very good things about both schools and know children from both. Ive looked at them online but wondered if there is much of a difference between the schools, apart from slightly better results from APS.

I have a bright sporty boy (lazy)
An artistic sporty quirky girl (not lazy)

I think APS is great for boys as it's strict and my son will have to work, but I wonder if The Compton might also be good and better for girls as it appears to have a nice art department from what I have heard. It has a nicer uniform ha ha ha.

Any thoughts gratefully received.

Thanks!

We considered both too. For us there was little in it. Results are pretty much the same as far as I can see; both fairly strict; both fairly inclusive schools. The Compton is considered to be in the top 1% nationally for the amount of progress kids make between KS2 an KS4 (see image from .gov website. In the end we chose put The Compton first and APS second. We were marginally closer to The Compton. Both seem like good schools. They have been happy on the whole.

Thanks NLondon64. Very interesting. Yes there is not much between then. I hear The Compton building is lovely and new. I will visit both and see. Thanks again.
