My dd1 starts high school in September. I looked at the primary education board & realised it's all about reception not Y6/7!! Wake up call for me. I couldn't find a thread for newbie Y7 mums who are nervous wrecks. Or is it just me?

Mine did transition day yesterday. Loved i. But sad today as only 2 of them from primary in his class and the other one wants to move out of the class (as only knows DS and wanted more 'familiar faces') if school allow a move where does that leave mine?
Other mum is a friend but I don't want to get involved (and secretly worried that her child doesn't actually want to be with mine)
What will be, will be, I suppose but we've had issues in primary school and I was delighted that he's excited to go to senior school

We have our transition day tomorrow. DC is much more chilled than me!

We had ours today, DD seemed to enjoy it, not been able to squeeze much info out of her! They have a second one in a week or so where they find out which form/sets they'll be in.

Hi Thanks for starting this thread. My DS starts in Sept. His induction day is next week - unfortunately on the same day as his year 6 day trip which he will now miss half of and I will have to join them to drive him from one to the other in the middle of the day. He is very excited but a bit apprehensive as there is only one other boy from his class going and he isn't in the same set.
However he knows a few faces as the school ran a cricket camp for new starters during half term which he really enjoyed.
They also have their open day tomorrow so we are going to visit again partly to help with his familiarisation with the sites and buildings and partly to take DS2 who is currently yr4 and will be applying in a years time.
