Just trying to get DS off the election results / reaction and on to get his brain in gear for biology + music.

Thanks for this.

I booked today off work in case I stayed up (I went to bed sensibly) so I'm going to pick up DC1 after biology and take them out for lunch somewhere nice.

IGCSE triple here - definitely just two papers for each science.

Good luck to all today Smile

The election is a major distraction! Why couldn't it have been held on Friday?

Report
pasanda · 09/06/2017 08:06

Good luck to all this morning.

DS has Units 1,2&3 chemistry this morning (OCR) and Business Studies Unit 3 this afternoon. Then thank God it's the weekend! It's horrible when they have 2 in a day I think.

LittleHo Apparently it's so that we're not drunk having been paid on Friday!

Morning all & thanks for the new thread.
🍀 To all today, biology & business studies today here.
It will all be over for us next Friday, & many of you I think too. Giant lie in tomo is in order I think!
No election discussion with dcs at all in our house this am, more interested in their w/e plans.

18 year old came back from university to vote and has been up all night. He moved from beer to tea at about 4 when I went to bed. DS2 - the examinee - went to bed about midnight. Could have been worse.

dd has B2 & B3 (AQA), it shouldn't be a problem - biology is one of her strongest subjects but I don't think she slept much at all last night but is still pretty blase Confused If she messes this one up I will struggle to be sympathetic

Next Friday is the end of the main period for us - but as DS does a rather niche language, his oral kicked off his exam period a week before anything else and the writing isn't till the middle of the week after next...

Only four more exams here!

Chemistry here today and thanks for the new thread. DD very interested in politics but we were all despondent about the Tory landslide so all went to bed. That will teach us!

Report
cantkeepawayforever · 09/06/2017 08:28

Counting today, 10 more (more papers than that, but some are 2 in 1 session, like the listening+reading for a language)

We've got Biology 2 and 3 today. My ds decided that as he had done some revision at school yesterday after maths it would be ok for him to practise his guitar playing instead of doing any more last night. Just 6 more to go next week... Then dd has her remaining A levels. Stress!

Im.in trouble as the tv kept dd2 awake last night. Hope adrenalin keeps pumping for yhe exam

24th exam just started, IGCSE biology. Ancient Greek this afternoon and the just 3 more next week to finish. I have runout of adrenaline to be stressed anymore. Good luck everyone.

Biology and Music today. 6 GCSEs down, 5 to go. It takes forever.

Report
RaskolnikovsGarret · 09/06/2017 09:17

IGCSEs seem a lot less stressful. DD has 28 exams, but her friends doing iGCSEs only have 18 - much more civilised.

Report
Snowchaser · 09/06/2017 09:32

DS is doing igcse's and he's got 28 exams in total. I don't know if they're more of less stressful that GCSE's but there are an awful lot of them! It must depend on the board and the subjects I guess.

One week left after today!

I just hope DS is not too exhausted to revise a bit this weekend.

Are everybody else's teens shattered?

re maths foundation/higher boundaries: thank you noble, tiggy & cantkeep. Feel a bit more reassured, although it still makes my head hurt trying to figure out the likely implications. In any case thankfully (I think) dd's panic over maths has moved swiftly on to panic over chemistry today. All science (6 exams Shock) and maths days are tense for us...with calm partially restored for anything vaguely humanity-like.

Signing in. Dd is very bleary eyed this morning after getting caught up in the election last night. She's strong on biology so hoping she copes well with it - she needs to as she is planning on doing it for A level.

Good luck to all the dcs today.

Report
Laniakea · 09/06/2017 09:44

yup after today she'll have only finished 6 of her 11 subjects with 7 more exams next week. Most of her friends finish on Friday with her - only the further maths ppl have an exam the following Monday.
